Programs & Services

The Claysburg-Kimmel School District offers many programs and services to meet the needs of students with a disability.  A  student qualifies for special programs and supports if he or she is determined to have one or more of the following disabilities:




                Emotional Disturbance

                Hearing Impairments

                Mental retardation

                Multiple disabilities

                Orthopedic Impairment

                Other health impairments

     Specific learning disabilities

     Speech or language impairment

     Traumatic brain injury

     Visual impairments



The Claysburg-Kimmel School District offers the following programs:

                Itinerant Hearing Support  (K-12)

                Itinerant Autistic Support  (K-12)

                Elementary Autistic Support Classroom  (VB)  (K-6)

                Itinerant Speech and Language Support (K-12)

                Psychology Services (K-12)


The following programs are contracted through Appalachia Intermediate Unit 8 (IU8):


                Itinerant Visual Support  (K-12)

                Early Intervention Services (IU8 Pre School)

                Social Work Services

                Assistive Technology

                Multi-Disability Support (K-12)

                Life Skills Support (K-12)

                Transition Planning for students, beginning at age 14

                Occupational Therapy
